changes. It used to be that running was my least favorite, but I've found that as my endurance has improved, I like it more. Now I'd say swimming (I know it's so good, but I always get bored doing laps). Also, I hate it in gym classes when they partner you up with a stranger...that irks me, i don't want to depend on anyone, or have them depend on me, especially if we don't know each other and have different physical capabilities.
Running. I hate running. It's not fun for me nor has it ever been. I only find it vaguely good to do in sprints. I see no point in running a marathon. I doubt our ancestors ran that far and that long anyway. It seems to me that running is something that humans evolved to do as a means to escape a predator. Other than that, walking briskly is what I think we are more built for. So I enjoy walking very much but I would never go for a morning jog. Never mind the fact that running a lot is bad for your knees and joints. Have I said enough about how much I despise running? Hehe.
push-ups and laterals. Push-ups frustrate me to no end. I want so badly to be able to do more than one. It took me so long to get to the point where I could do plank in yoga and now that I'm taking kickboxing, I'm so frustrated that push-ups are beyond my grasp.
Laterals are horrible for me, not only because I'm slow (I'm a SLOW runner too), but because I have a heel spur. It's too painful to do laterals and I feel left behind in class while everyone else is doing laterals without a problem.
However, I used to dislike down dog when I first started doing yoga but my hamstrings are so open now, there's no issue at all anymore and it's an easy pose for me. Hopefully, push-ups will someday be an easy task as well!
Chin ups. I just can't do one. I've tried. I can't pull my own weight up. Ah, Gravity....it's hard to fight. :)
I've made it a goal of mind to try to do at least one. For me, that's going to mean more intense upper body workouts.
Bike Riding. I don't know what it is about riding a bike, but I just don't enjoy myself. I would much rather take longer and walk. It's a shame cause I live in a bike friendly place, but I can't face those hills even though I am in good shape. OH WELL!
Running as well. I'm with Stephanie--I used to absolutely detest running, then I did it because I thought it was good for me, and now I'm officially back to hating it. I like being outdoors but living in a city isn't that amenable to running. Plus, it hurts my knees and I find that many of the pains and injuries I tend to get from exercising come from running. So now it's back to the gym, yoga, hiking, and swimming (all things I actually like) for me!
