Weekend Special: Too Much Alcohol Consumption Affects Fat Loss

Does your exercise goals include losing body fat? If so, you need to figure in any alcohol that you drink. Alcohol has 7 calories per gram and fat has 9 calories per gram. Another fact is that alcohol has almost twice as many calories per gram than carbohydrates (4) or protein (4). Also, when you drink alcohol at the same time as food, your body tends to burn the alcohol first, leaving the fat on your body. If 10 percent of your daily calories (approximately two drinks) come from alcohol (about 2 drinks), it can increase your fat consumption by at least 10%-15% in relation to total calories.
Don't lose the battle of fat loss because you didn't figure in the alcohol calories!
