Having ridden a bicycle for more than 60 years my legs are in good shape; however, I now find my upper body lacking in strength and flexibility. This is due to age and becoming less active except for bicycling with friends at least twice a week year-round.
A large bone spur was just removed from my right shoulder to allow me to reach for items on shelves higher than my chest height - the left will be done in the near future.
The PT supervising my recovery has me use an ube to warm up the repaired shoulder for the twice weekly session at his facility. I'm thinking I ought to obtain one to use at home after I'm released to my own supervision.
Since I thoroughly enjoy biking, it seems to me that it would be easy to adapt to using an upper body ergometer along with a few other routines to rebuild my upper body flexibility and strength.
Thanks in advance for any advice and suggestions, tomyj
