Tricep Exercises That Work

tricep exercises

If you’re like me, you’re always in search for that actually work.  My favorite tricep exercise as of late is Skull Crushers with a 20 pound weight.

Here’s what I do. I like to call it, Bianca’s Skull Crusher.

  • Sit on the bench, laying flat on your back.
  • Extend arms above your head, keeping the bar aligned directly above your head.
  • Bend arms towards your head at a 90 degree angle.
  • Do these while counting 4 seconds down and 3 seconds up.

I like to do 15 reps, 3 times.

I know that this is just one of many tricep exercises out there, but I really feel like this one works the best. That being said I can’t just do this exercise, every couple days, because my muscles get used to it. So in turn I’ve been hardly doing tricep exercises which is not a good idea if I want my arms to tone up. So I searched for a modified version of a Skull Crusher and I found a tricep exercises that you can do at the gym and at home!

Skull Crushers with a band!!!

This is perfect. Free weights are great, but resistance is always better! All you need is to securely place the band at the base of the bench and you’re set. I know sometimes the benches at the gym can be different sizes and not the easiest to add to, but this tricep exercise works on any bench. I tried it at my gym and at my home gym. Here’s my one tip:

Tie the band in a knot, it’s easier to hold on to and a faster way to get it around the bench.

Don’t want to do this exercise at the gym? I feel you, sometimes I just want to use the tricep machines and leave. Check out this youtube video. It shows you how to do this exercise off a chair! If you don’t have a chair it would work on a coffee table. See for yourselves.
