Training Thursday!!

Posted Aug 04 2011 7:07am

So I’ve started doing a couple of plans from Smart Coach instead of following the RLRF plan. I am looking at both and making my calls for the week as I MIGHT run a 5k in the middle of September or a 10k in the middle of October. I am actually liking the Smart Coach plans better. The paces aren’t quite as fast, which might be a good thing for my shins. I’ve got a couple of rest days coming up and than I’m hoping to get out Saturday morning for a long run. I haven’t been getting outside to run and since the Hubby has a string of days off and we have no plans I won’t be taking away from family time.

I’ve been doing a good job of keeping up with my pull-ups/chinups and push ups challenge. On Tuesday I did 10 knee push ups (sore arms!) and than later on I did 2 sets of 10 more on my toes. I attempted a chin-up at the gym that morning but it was near the end of my workout and my arms were soo sore from Monday’s arm session that I totally got only 1/4 of the way up. Yesterday I did 3/4 of a chin up at the end of my workout and did a set of 15 and a set of 10 regular push ups later on. I think today will be a total rest day to let my arms rest and than tomorrow hit the push ups again. I’ve been thinking of getting a chin up bar. I’ll see if I can find a deal on one.

I got 2 good strength sessions in this week. The Upper body session on Monday was a killer and the lower body on Tuesday hasn’t left me as sore but I can still feel it!

How’s everyone else doing?

Anything specific training for?
