Time to hit the gym! Women need to work out for an hour to avoid gaining weight, new research says : "The women gained an average of 5.7 pounds during the study. Typically, Americans gain a pound and a half annually between the ages of 25 and 55.

The women who kept off weight engaged in moderate-intensity activities such as hiking, jogging, dance, yoga, tennis and swimming. It’s not clear how much physical activity younger women should engage in to keep their weight stable.

While an hour a day of exercise might sound like a lot, some experts say it doesn’t have to be painful."
