Although the article describes the activities of football that could temporarily reduce your height - the reasoning behind it can also apply to you and your daily activities.
Think of all the things that could apply;
Long periods of sitting hunched over your computer
Lifting and moving heavy objects
Exercise activities that create impact - ie. running, step aerobics
Sliding in to home base, just to meet the catcher, at your softball game
Carrying the kids around or on your hip
The list could go on and on. So what to do?

The art of flexibility is missing in most active adults lives. I call it the missing fitness component. Realistically, when was the last time you you stretched the main muscle groups in your body - chest , back and legs? Something we should all be doing on a daily basis.
I will try to devote some posts, over the next couple of weeks, for some simple daily stretches you can be doing right now. Here's one for starters,
Get up from your desk and stand tall
Point your head to the sky and inhale a deep breath as you do the following ;
Raise your rib cage and roll your shoulders back - pinching your shoulder blades together as you;
Spread your arms out wide to the sides, palms facing forward.(can you envision that Nestle Tea commercial where the tea drinker is standing with his back to a pool and slowly falls backwards - arms outstretched - taking the Nestle plunge?)
