Things That Differentiate Yoga From Pilates Fitness

Would you say you know why is pilates fitness different from yoga? Science is a continually evolving subject that has new beliefs being postulated every day. It is thanks to science that we have seen a big change in the things that we eat. If it was not for science, we would’ve probably suffered from many illnesses and not even know the sure for them. Thankfully, we now know to differentiate between good and bad food items and stick to eating the right thing.

Hence, it comes as no surprise that stars all over the world practice some common types of exercises, which are usually in conjunction with yoga or Pilates. Both of these styles of exercises have something unique to offer to the user and consequently, are very popular among the masses. You can try and find other alternatives, but none will match the popularity of either of these two exercises.

Now, it becomes important to differentiate between the two exercises. Their names might be lightly used and you would have come across both of them in a variety of shows on TV, in movies or even in your neighborhood. There is no shortage of people practicing one or both of these exercises and you should find someone relatively easily.

Yoga has more to do with mind control. You are taught to understand how to master you mind, body and the soul as a single unit and try to achieve high levels of fitness through less stressful means. The exercise believes that mind control trumps over everything and that using only your mind, you can achieve very high levels of fitness. The exercise itself dates back to thousands of years, before people had experienced modern exercises.

While yoga emphasizes on the mind, Pilates emphasizes on the aspect that you need to use your body to do some intense exercises while ensuring that your mind has a high level of awareness. Your mind is aware of the physical activities you are doing and adds to the impact of the exercise on the whole. It is a technique that was developed by a mostly German individual by the name of Joseph Pilates. He was assigned the task of developing a regiment which could effectively train the troops during the Second World War.

Once you are made aware of the two exercises, you may feel like they are doing pretty much the same thing. While this may be partially true, their approach is significantly different. Yoga is all about using your body as the resistance in attempting to achieve ultimate levels of fitness whereas Pilates is about using your body as well as some basic resistance to help develop an effective exercise routing.

Whatever may be your final goal; both of these techniques are proven to be extremely effective and are helpful in reducing your weight, toning your body and restoring your health. Under a qualified instructor, you should be able to attain a high degree of fitness and be able to cope with stress as well.

If you are in a conundrum regarding which exercise will work for you, then remember this: Yoga is for relieving stress and attaining fitness whereas Pilates Fitness is for effective physical training using specialized exercises.
