The Early Bird gets the treadmill (again)

Posted Feb 15 2010 6:42am

Good morning sexies!

Guess who got up for an early workout, even without her early workout partner!? That’s right. This girl! I’m so proud. Lol.

I used to think I’d absolutely never be able to get up earlier than I had to,      especially to work out. But this semester I don’t have class til 10 on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays… so it’s not like I have to get up THAT early to get in a decent workout. I’m a big sweater (it runs in the family), so I always assumed I’d have to shower after every workout, which would mean I’d have to get up ridiculously early… but I’ve found that if I do a proper cool down, stand in front of the fan for awhile, and chill for at least twenty minutes before getting dressed, I’m fine. Sure I’m not so fresh ‘n’ so clean, but who am I trying to impress? I already got a man. Lol :-p

Anyway,  I’m typing this currently on an e-mail kiosk, which is proving to be quite difficult, but I kind of wish all computers were like this so you had to stand while you use them. I certainly wouldn’t waste so much time on the internet, and I’d definitely burn a couple extra calories! Haha

It’s interesting the things you see at the gym. For instance, this morning I saw one of the things I hate to see more than anything. An anorexic person. I was at the gym for over an hour doing weight training and running, and the whole time she was slowly but surely pumping away at a steady pace on the elliptical. Chica was not healthy. Less upsetting, I saw one of the professors from the political science department. He was a really good runner to be honest! I felt bad because when I got off the treadmill, an asian girl with track shorts so short, her butt cheeks wer hanging out got on. And it was right in front of the professor. I felt bad enough that he had to watch my bum on the treadmill in front of his, but at least mine wasn’t hanging out the bottom of my shorts! I dont know, maybe he liked it. Ew. Haha.

Well I had a great workout. I still haven’t ran more than a mile, but I had like… over a week off, so I’m glad I didn’t lose any progress. Plus, I still have half of February left to get up to 3 miles. I think I can do it :) So I’m off to poetry, then work, and then lit. Tonight I will definitely be studying for a political science midterm on Thursday, so you probably won’t hear from me for the rest of the day. I can’t wait to drink up my protein enhanced green monster, which I put some pineapple in today. I packed some tuna, an apple, and some carrots for lunch, and almonds for a snack before dinner.

Have a great day everyone!
