Most of us have tennis racquet's gathering dust in the garage! But now that summer is almost here, it might be time to get back in the game. Recreational tennis (read fun) can be a good workout, providing aerobic exercise if you play for an hour at a moderate rate. And lunging and reaching after ground balls as well as serving and volleying will strengthen your legs, arms, and shoulders, giving you a total body workout. Yeah, it's hard work, but the fact that tennis is also mentally challenging means it's an even better way to stay in shape. So dig out that racquet and hit the court; all major cities have public tennis facilities, and if you're really rusty you can always take a few lessons. Or pick a partner and play doubles, and improve your social life at the same time!
