STUDYING FOR THE ACSM CERTIFICATION

Posted Aug 23 2008 10:39pm
In my pursuit to the be the healthiest I can be and help people in the process I've decided to get my Personal Training Certificate. Ultimately my real interest in helping people is to be a registered dietician so I can also counsel people on what to eat. Of course that involves going back to school and I'm not ready to do that immediately. I do want to be very well rounded and I know the ACSM Certification will help me to accomplish that. It is supposed to be hard to pass and study for but also very respected.

I got the book yesterday and I'm really ready to dig in. It's a long book and since my educational background is in Television and Communications I think it will take me a bit longer to completely absorb everything. I'm really hoping by next year I will be finished reading the book and ready to go to the 3 day seminar. That would mean taking the test a month or so after that which would be around February. Exciting!!! Of course I would LOVE to speed this along but I don't know if that would be realistic.

So why am I telling you this??? I've looked on the internet and there is not a lot of information on studying for this certification. Infact I really didn't find anything. So I'd like to post occasionally about how my studying is going and interesting things that I am learning.

First chapter up is Intro to Personal Training.....
