Staying Healthy While on Vacation

Planning your summer vacation should be about more than getting a bikini-perfect body. Here are some ways to stay healthy even as you bask in the glow of warmer climes:

1) Ask your doctor if he/she thinks that immunization is a good idea. You’d be surprised—getting your booster shots for out-of-country visits is usually a must, but sometimes, it’s a good idea even while traveling domestically.
2) Take a first-aid kit full of important medical supplies (medication, band-aids, pain killer, etc.), as well as your insurance information and your doctor’s name and phone number.
3) Wash your hands as much as possible to avoid picking up germs in travel-related settings, like planes and taxis.
4) Drink only bottled water, and avoid beverages with ice.
5) Stay active by planning holidays that include lots of walking and outdoor activities.
