Sleep & Muscle Repair - part 3
Posted May 24 2010 8:31am
Over the last two posts, you have learned
when we need to get to bed
to maximize our muscle repair.
And way back in the day, going to bed by 10PM was...
And they did.
But for us modern and (
thanks to manscaping
) less hairy individuals, it ain't
so easy
.
Here are some tips to help you wind down in time for our body's natural sleep/wake cycle
Try to be asleep by 10:30 PM
Every week try to go to be 15 minutes earlier until you are closer to 10:30PM
Start dimming the lights or turning out lights around 9 PM
Limit the exposure in front of the TV and computer
Drink water and eat right at dinner
Avoid consuming stimulants like alcohol, caffeine, or sugar
Sleep in a completely dark room
Try to do this
80% of the time
and you'll see the benefits.
That equals
5.6 days of the week
for optimal sleeping.
Anyone, caveman or not, can do that.
