Sea Salt VS. Table Salt – What’s Better?

Posted Jan 21 2011 12:00am

This is a common question among clients.  What makes sea salt so much better then table salt?   There are various views on this topic.  Some say there really isn’t that much of a difference, while others say sea salt could be the answer to some of America’s alignments.

I’ll have to admit that the research and the information about sea salt verses table salt was SO fascinating that I was sucked in for hours reading various views.

Our body is comprised of salt and water.  Everything in our body uses it!  Our blood contains salt, our tears, perspiration, heart and various other components.  Regular table salt is mined, then sand blasted, chemically treated and then iodine it added.  After all this processing you basically have a salt void of minerals and macrobiotic materials essential to health.

Since our bodies function with the aid of sodium we must consume it because we can not produce it ourselves.  The real problem is that our bodies do not know how to use processed salt.  In effect, this leads to the storing of salt in our organs and tissues.

Years of processed salt intake can damage almost all areas of the body such as the heart, kidneys, muscles and bones and it is processed salt that bloats us and causes water retention. Processed salt can put a body out of balance. According to Dr Langre’s book, people that have an aversion to salt or tell you they dislike salt most likely have too much sodium chloride attached to their organs and tissues, are really telling you that they are sick and are in need of essential minerals ( source ).

The solution is to buy 100% real sea salt.  This type of salt is processed the same as it was done 2000 years ago.  It’s in its natural state, full of macro – nutrients.  The salt is also naturally balance with calcium, sodium, chloride, magnesium, potassium and 90 other trace micro nutrients.  This nautral mix of of minerals allows digestion to begin in the mouth and then continues in the stomach.

Natural organic sea salt has been known to lower blood pressure and decrease water retention. It enables the liver, kidneys and adrenals to work much more efficiently. It can boost the immune system. Natural sea salt has all the elements of the ocean and this means that the survival potential of a body is much greater than if you remove these vital elements.

After researching how table salt works verses sea salt I think I’ll be switching to 100% sea salt.  Don’t be fool by imitation sea salts.  I have one in my cupboard.  The real deal is not white it should be discolored.  It doesn’t pour like normal salt either due to the natural moisture.  Little fit tips like this could be the difference between being swollen, sluggish and tired, or well nourished and full of energy void of swelling and health issues.
