You've heard it before, but my scheduling your workout into your daily routines will help ensure that it gets done. We always have things come up, but by writing it in the planner, and making it non-negotiable (i.e. coming up with "chores" that may seem like they have to be done right away) will help you stick with the mentality of how important your exercise is. The laundry can always wait until tomorrow, but by putting off the exercise, you've wasted a day of training your heart, building your muscles and bones, and burning calories to maintain a healthy weight. So find a time that would work for you more than not. For some, it will be first thing in the morning. For others, such as myself, that know I need a cup of coffee and some time to mentally wake up, an afternoon or evening schedule will work best. And don't make it over the top. If you're getting up at 6 in the morning already to get the kids ready and get ready for work, thinking you can just get up at 5 may be stretching it. Usually there are obligations that can be put on hold or rescheduled during the sunlight hours so that you can find a time that won't tempt you to just hit the snooze button!
