Rotating Your Food Choices To Burn Fat

Posted Jul 15 2009 5:40pm

Are you a picky eater? Do you tend to stick with the same meals day after day?

While this is the easy way to plan your meals, it’s a good idea to change things up a bit. Your body requires lots of different nutrients to effectively burn off fat, and if you are lacking in certain nutrients, your body just might choose to stall in your weight loss progress.

In just the past few years, I have tried foods that I never in my life thought I would ever taste much less fall in love with and eat over and over again. I do like to have my eggs every morning for breakfast, but I rotate the vegetables that I add to them. This helps to make sure that I am getting all the best nutrients from different forms of vegetables. I stick to my lean chicken breast and ground turkey for my main meals, but I do rotate them or cook them in different ways and add different vegetables every time. By rotating my foods, this keeps me from getting bored and helps me to stick with healthy foods instead of choosing food that are not beneficial to fat loss.

My goal is to add one new food to my diet every month, whether it be a lean protein, or some form of fruit or vegetable. This past month I tried Kale for the first time. I sauteed it in olive oil with some onion salt and it was delicious! My next goal is to add fish. I am not a big fan of fish, but know how important it is to my body, so I know it’s time to give it a try.

By adding variety to your diet, you not only keep your metabolism burning, but you also ensure that your body is getting the proper nutrients and antioxidants needed to keep you living a long, healthy life.

When was the last time you added something new to your diet?
