After talking to some friends this week I realized that many of you either don’t read food labels regularly or just really don’t know what you are looking at. You should be reading the label on everything you buy! What should you be looking for? Click HERE for a good tutorial. What else to look for? The first FIVE items listed in the ingredient section of a food label are the most important. If any of the following are in the first FIVE then put it back on the shelf!
High fructose corn syrup
Enriched wheat flour (white flour)
Hydrogenated or Partially Hydrogenated oils
You will be surprised at what “healthy” foods list these in the top five (check out your healthy energy bar!).
