Q:Will having one or to cups of green tea (real green tea in tea bags, not crappy lipton tea) help with fat loss? Maybe one cup in the morning, one in the evening?
A:While the dosage of a few cups might not be the amount you need for fat loss, green tea is both a powerful antioxidant to combat free radical damage and it also contains Theanine. Theanine is a calming tonic that helps stressful individuals and those with low levels GABA neurotransmitter. As a result, the anti-stress effects of Theanine combats cortisol and therefore does help with central trunk fat gain.
Q:Q: I dieted pretty hard for the summer and now I want to gain size but I fear eating carbohydrates again, is there another way around it?
A: Nope, I hate to admit it but if you want to gain noticeable size you are going to have to ingest some carbs. They aren’t the devil as the popular media has made them out to be, rather people are ignorant when it comes to them. I used to be like you and for the entire summer would only eat carbs once or twice a week. The result? I was lean but too skinny. If you’d followed my blog and newsletter for some time you’ll know I just came off of 12 weeks where I dieted pretty hard to drop some body fat.
Now’s my time to put on size but won’t that just undo all the good I did getting lean? The problem is that most people feel they have to over consume carbs and can eat whatever they want. That’s a piss poor excuse. If you stick with carbs that are unrefined and unprocessed like brown rice, oatmeal, granola and sweet potatoes you won’t cause the rapid drop in your blood sugar and overstuff our cells with insulin therefore making it harder to store nutrients which then turn into fat. Choose smart carbs and don’t feel like you have to eat them every day. Schedule them around your workout and remember to keep taking your fish oils.
