Hey everyone!! It’s FRIDAY!!! Finally, huh?? Is it just me or did this past week last forever?? I’m totally looking forward to some chill time with the pilot and puppers :D
Last night, my meals were a little hodge podge, but I did make the queen of all salad beasts:

Spinach, greens, 1/2 avocado, cucumber, eggplant, zucchini, red and orange bell pepper, tomato, goat gouda (I’m LOVING that cheese!! Mmmmmm), lemon juice, sea salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
I also had some bnut squash fries and some of that awesome coconut ice cream over the course of the evening, topped with vegan chocolate chips.

I had the fries with some
unsweetened organic ketchup I found at Winn Dixie (Winn Dizzle) last night, and it tasted like pure tomato paste. I’m totally putting some Stevia or something in there next time.

I served the pilot some ice cream as well, and he killed it within a couple of minutes. Our convo:
Me: That was disgusting, huh?
Pilot: Yeah, hated it. Wait…..was that healthy??
Me: Of course it was… and you liked it ;)
Pilot: [Insert expletive here]. Well, that’s amazing
He was definitely a fan of the Coconut Bliss:D
The negative connotations with “health foods” blows my mind. I’m lucky that I married someone who likes to try different foods and if it’s delicious, he’ll happily feast out. I also have a great group of friends who are health-conscious or adventurous when it comes to food and a family who knows exactly what I like to eat and fully supports my eating habits.
Quite a few times before, I’ve offered a snack/treat/meal/bar to someone and their response is, “ No, that’s too healthy for me.” Too healthy?!? Whaaaat? And I’ve also had to deal with quite a few people in my life who did not like the foods I ate and openly bashed my choice to eat as cleanly as possible while they filled their bellies on junk food.
My friend Amy over at Veganissexy wrote a post called healthy habit haters which is something I think about every now and again. My friend Megan and I have had a lot of conversations regarding “healthy habit haters”. I don’t judge other people’s eating styles and would NEVER say anything to them, but feel like when you try to create a healthy lifestyle for yourself it can often put you on the chopping block for judgment.
When I first worked here as an area sales manager at a department store, I got constant rude remarks about my eating habits because I would pack my own healthy lunches and snacks to have throughout the (insanely) long days I worked there. I would never respond in a negative manner, but it definitely got annoying.
Have you had to deal with “healthy habit haters”?
The rest of our evening was pretty chill. The pilot went swimming and I dangled my feet in the water, he played Wii and I read, then we crashed out.
This morning I had some bing cherries to-go and took the puppies on their half hour walk.

They’re such cute babies:

When we got home, I made a lovely green juice with 1 pear, 1 apple, spinach and cucumber

Since I only have one training appointment today, I’m meeting my friend Emily for juice in a little while (yes, another juice for me… I will be having solid food today as well, hah) running a couple of errands, reading on my raft in the pool, workout, training, then making some dinner for the pilot and I :D Ahhh, I love Fridays.
Have an incredible day, friends <3
Love,
Gina
