I wanted to share today something I do each Saturday to prepare myself for my workouts the next week. I write out my workout schedule! In the past I would wake up in the morning, slip on my running clothes and shoes, and head out the front door for a 45-60 minute run. I did not have to do much planning, but I was also not giving my body everything it needed for overall fitness. Running made my heart and lungs strong. It also gave me nice looking lean legs, but it did not do much for my core area, or my upper body.

Over the past year I have incorporated P90X and the Plus. Over the last couple of months I have added in Turbo Ab Jam, Rocking Body, and Slim Series. I have been doing a lot of mixing and matching lately. I am loving it! Waking up and slipping on my workout clothes is still pretty easy, but doing the exercise after getting on the workout clothes is not a simple no brainer anymore. It takes some thought because I now have so many to choose from. My main workouts are still running and P90X, but I like to add in some days of the others I mentioned above, so every Saturday I take a little bit of time to plan my workouts for the next week. I place my plan right by my computer so when I wake up each morning and log into WOWY I will have my workout plan right there with each day?s workout written down. Then I do not have to try to figure out what I am going to do at the last minute. I already know in advance and I have plenty of time to prepare myself and even think about it long beforehand. Writing down my workout schedule helps me stay on track and stay accountable to doing my workouts. Also, to stay accountable to taking days off. That is also important. I tend to not take enough rest days because I enjoy working out so much. But, rest is important for the body to recover and come back stronger for the next workout.

Pre planning my workouts a week in advance also makes it easier to log in my workouts to WOWY. I also log them in a week in advance. Then, I won?t have to mess with it each morning. All I have to do is click, ?Begin Your Workout Now? and write a message to my buddies for that morning, and get started with my workout. I love it!

As I am sitting here typing right now I am glancing over at next week?s schedule. It is recovery week. For tomorrow I have Core Synergistics and a 3 mile run planned. Okay, this sounds great. Core is one of my favorites. I am also getting it in my head what time I need to wake up in the morning to be able to get both workouts completed. I am always on a time limit as are all of you, I?m sure. I have invited success buddies for each day, or accepted invites from buddies, and I am all set and ready to go. Wednesday is going to be my day off this week, and I will need it to rest up for my 7 mile foothills run the next morning. I am feeling good about my workout plan for this week, and am ready to go! I hope you have a plan for next week too! I hope you are not just winging it. That usually does not end up working out. So pre plan it and have a great workout week!
