The people have spoken and I was very surprised by what my people had to say on the last poll. We had votes all over the place to the question,
'How often do you change your workout?'
The votes were as mixed as your favorite martini. Some of you change your workout as frequently as Puffy Daddy changes his name and other's as frequently as you change your oil filter.
Poll Results
30% Every week
23% Every 6 months
23% Ever year
15% Every workout
7% Every month
Poll Revealed
At a minimum EVERYONE should be changing their workout, in some fashion, at leastevery4 to 6 weeks. This time frame is often referred to as the 'adaptation phase', where your body will adapt to whatever workout you do to make it easier for you. You become more efficient. If you don't change or bump up the routine, you will plateau.
The majority of the voters said that they switched up their routine every week. The only downfall to changing every workout or every week is that it is hard to track what worked. Sticking with a routine for a month allows you to evaluate and see what actually happened.
For all you 6 month and one year workout changers...
3 Ways to know your workout is out of date:
You've been doing the same cardio program since people were using pagers
You've been doing the same strength training routine since Michael Jordan had hair
You've been doing the same abdominal exercises since Milli Vanilli was still 'singing'
The votes were as mixed as your favorite martini. Some of you change your workout as frequently as Puffy Daddy changes his name and other's as frequently as you change your oil filter.
