Park to Park 1/2 Marathon Race Recap!! and Virtual "Because I can't afford it"Marathon!

Posted May 03 2011 12:00am
This past Saturday I ran my first 1/2 M! The temperature was a little colder at the start than I would have liked, around 40, but not big deal. Since it was so cold and the 2nd 10th of a mile of the race was in the grass so my feet were cold and wet and it took almost 3 miles I think for them to warm up and for me to be able to feel them again!

While some of my paces were not as fast as I would like, the elevation would be the reason why!! It was always up and down, up and down!! I was dissapointed in my time at first but looking at the elevation and the fact that I haven't run over 10 miles before I am pretty happy!! I wan't last, there were about 50 people behind me, so that helps too! I will definitely run this again next year and try to improve my time!

 This was part of my

Which I did in 6 workouts between April 22 and May 1. I ran a mile on Sunday to make it all count!! I have a couple of pics from the half that I'll download and post later!

I'm sticking to shorter races for the rest of the year, A 10k in July and than a 5k in September are all I have planned for at the moment. I might throw a couple more in there maybe October and November. I am looking forward to getting faster!!! I am really going to try to get my 10K time under an hour! I know I can do it as I am almost there, I just have to make it happen!!!
