Ninja Fat Loss Secrets from John Alvino

Posted Oct 01 2010 12:00am

I was dreading this workout from the minute I was shaken out of my slumber this morning. Still sore and tired from previous training session, I just tried to get as much quality protein and fat in my belly as possible in an attempt to speed recovery. Luckily we had a chili cook off at work today! To give you an idea of my diet (if you care) today I ate
  • 6 eggs with cabbage and 4 strips of bacon for breakfast
    • with
  • 2 patties of with some baked yam fries for lunch
  • 4 small bowls of chili (cook off!) for lunch #2
  • 1 lamb patty as a pre-workout meal
  • 1 bowl of Greek (full fat) yogurt with berries for post workout
  • 2 bowls of fish curry for dinner
Wow, looking at that on writing makes me realize just how much I eat, especially meat! What bothers me about that is I am only 225lbs. This is just one day of eating but more veggies wouldn't hurt.

Anyways, back to the workout of the day. As I said I went into this workout sore and hurting, just wanting to get it done and over with. Here is the workout I did

  • Deadlifts with (see above pic, like normal flex bands only really short)
    • worked up to a max single
    • dropped it down to 80% 1rm for 10 sets of 1 rep (30 second rest between sets)
  • Swings
    • 200 swings doing sets of 15-25 (less reps as I fatigued)
  • Hanging Leg Lifts
    • 4 x 5 (swinging all the way upside down)
The workout actually went way better than I thought it would. As usual once you get going all the aches and pains tend to disappear.
