New PR’s in Deadlift, Bench, and Pull Ups!!

Posted Jun 08 2012 9:22pm

Yeahhh Buddy. So I mentioned a few weeks ago that my friend at Rise Above Strength Gym has a record board on his wall, divided into different categories. In the adult female bracket (my bracket), Bre dominated. I’ve never met her, and there’s nothing personal– it’s just that I felt like breaking some records. Among other records, she had done a weighted pull up at 27 pounds, a bench press at 135 pounds, and a deadlift at 255 pounds. Although I normally train in a higher rep range, a new motivation stirred inside me to see my one rep max, increase it, and beat those records. I felt these records were the most likely for me to beat out of all of her accomplishments. I practiced for the past two weeks and it was thrilling today to hit new PR’s AND to erase someone else’s name and put MY NAME on THREE records!! :) I did a weighted pull up with 32.5 pounds externally loaded (a 30 pound dumbbell + 2.5 pound plate), a bench press of 160 pounds, and a deadlift at 260 pounds!!! :) That was the most exciting for sure. Below is a video, so you can be witness ;) I also want to give a shout out to Doug, AJ, and Rich for their support!!!!

And just because this is so frikkin cute, here ya go
