My Total Body Rapid Cleanse is over!

Posted Mar 16 2010 6:45am

Good morning KWO readers! So, my detox is over. It felt odd to wake up this morning and not have to drink that weird fiber slup on an empty stomach. Can't say I miss it though!

I am really proud of myself for sticking with it. A multi-part SEVEN day detox? I really didn't think I could follow through, but I did! That gives me hope for all the other things in my life that are lacking consistency right now. I can do it!

Just FYI, the detox I used was called the Total Body Rapid Cleanse. It has three parts--two different sets of capsules and a fiber supplement that you take in the morning and at night. Supposedly the ingredients in the cleanse -- things like turmeric, dandelion leaf and marshmallow root--support the seven channels of elimination: liver, lungs, lymphatic system, kidneys, skin, blood and bowels.

I'm not exactly sure what the results are yet. I don't feel "detoxed" per se; but I do have more energy!

A couple of things I noticed throughout the seven days, however, were:

1. Drinking water is key. It naturally flushes out toxins from your body. I was definitely more conscious about drinking water because I had to be throughout the last seven days, but from here on out, I want to be more deliberate about it in general.

2. Fiber is SO important. Really, it is a girl's best friend. That fiber slup I mentioned earlier? Drinking it in the morning (OK, with 16 oz. of water) was a hunger killer. Now I don't recommend substituting food for fiber supplements, but eating foods filled with fiber really does keep you feeling satisfied. And, um, using the facilities on the regular.

What's your favorite source of fiber? I would say mine are probably: nuts, apples and whole grain pasta.
