Recently I purchase this game only to have a good time with family and friends. I previously had the Original "Dance Central" so I was excited when part 2 came out. So what took me so long to try out the fitness option on "Dance Central 2"? Well, one of the biggest things was I thought it would be set up like the original game. On the original, you would just pick the fitness option (more like turning it on) but continue with the regular game play. Which means after each song you performed and finished, you would have stop, pick another song, and start up again. It kept up with your calorie burn but I just hated to fact that I stop and wait for another song to load up. Now with the new game, the creators had made major improvements with the fitness portion. They made the whole fitness option separate from the regular game play option and also give you different options (for example "The Long Haul" which lets you workout for about 50 minutes from slow to fast pace songs to the "Sprint" which lets you workout for about 10 minutes using fast pace songs only). You can still set it up like the original and just turn it on while you are doing regular game play or the break down option but I prefer doing just the separate fitness portion because the songs flow from one to another without interruption (well, maybe a small loading time in between songs, but I usually jog in place or take a break........and is much faster than the original)
Overall, I like this same because you can use this for fitness or just having a good time. I just love that you are dancing and it doesn't really feel like a workout. One thing I will say is that some of the moves for some of the songs are kind of feminine (with hip grinding, posing, and "whipping your hair" dance moves) but if you are comfortable doing it, I say go for it. And since the two player option on Dance Central 2 now let's two people dance at the same time......grab a partner and get to dancing
Another note, this game is only for Xbox and you have to have a Kinect in order to play it. Now here are some videos of some of the dance moves and song that I took off my phone so you can see why you can get a good workout from it. Also, another note, kids love it.......proven in one on my videos........
