My new favourite body weight exercise, the swinging plank

As you guys may have noticed I have been including a lot more body weight drills in my kettlebell workouts. I love to use these drills to prepare my body for the more strenuous work ahead but also to sneak in extra volume and burn out glycogen without overly taxing my nervous system (powerlifting kicks my nervous system's butt).
The biggest drawback I have found with body weight drills is that it is hard to hit the back unless you have a pull-up bar handy. Personally, I live in a high end condo and there is no way I am using one of those door pull-up bars. So I always wonder how I am supposed to hit my back?
Well I found one solution kind of by accident. I was doing a sample Tacfit Commando workout by Scott Sonnon, and one of the drills presented is the Swinging Plank. To me this looked like another good ab drill, but it is much more than that!
After a few sets of Swinging Planks, my lats were getting really tired. The next day doing pull-ups at the gym, I couldn't believe how sore my lats were!
So if you need to work your back more, and who doesn't, but love body weight drills, try the swinging plank for yourself!
