http://www.kettlebellplanet.com/ You know when you come up with every excuse in the book not to workout? Well today was one of those days, so I compromised and talked myself into doing a mini workout. By mini I mean short, intense, non-stop but not overly strenuous. No heavy lifting, no grinding, just non-stop movement. I chose to do a series of bodywieght and kettlebell exercise to maximize systemic failure and thereby increase my resting metabolic rate. Short snappy workouts are the best way to burn fat without losing muscle. I did one set of as many reps as possible of these exercises in this order: Lunges, push-ups, sit-ups, body weight squats, alternating side push-ups, inch worms, high knees, kettlebell rows, monkey jumps, kettlebell cleans, reverse lunges, leg lifts, jumping jacks, ski jumps, plank holds, alternating jumping lunges, kettlebell swings, push-ups turnins, one arm kettlebell swings, star push-ups, kettlebell clean squat and press, kettlebell rope swings, and finally kettlebell rope curls. This entire session was non-stop and took about 20 minutes. It wasn't a brutal workout but it was enough to get a good sweat, burn some fat, and feel revitalized. Kettlebells aren't just for guys either. Check out this great video below: |
