Machines Versus Free Weights - Round 3

Posted Nov 29 2008 12:27pm
And now for our main event...

The fighters, Mikey 'The Machine' and Donnie 'The Dumbbell' are ready to settle this once and for all!

Gentleman, let's have a good clean fight. No biting, kicking, or punches below the belt.

The bell rings and both fighters come flying out of their corners:

Donnie lands the first jab with the benefits of balance, coordination, and joint stability

Mikey counters with a strong right hook for the ability to isolate muscles for hypertrophy

Mikey then knocks Donnie down an uppercut to his chin with user friendliness

Donnie gets up and hits Mikey with a left cross with the ability to mimic sport and activity specific exercises

Mikey dodges his next punch and retaliates with a combo of no required spotter and low intimidation

Donnie traps Mikey on the ropes and delivers three blows of involving multiple muscles at once, various exercise body positions, and dynamic movements

The bell rings and the fight is over, both competitors go to their respective corners.

The fight has been scored and this judge has made a decision:

It's a draw!

Both strength machines and free weights are a part of a comprehensive and progressive strength training program. I recommend that all exercisers use a blend to best reach their goals. Mixing and matching will help create different stimulus on the body to prevent reaching a plateau. To best select the exercise equipment for a given individual, it is necessary to know their preferences, goals, ability level, and limitations.
