Lower Body Kettlebell Workout of the Day

Posted Sep 07 2008 7:58pm

Tuesday was a lower body day and I did not have time to go to the gym for my normal barbell strength building session so I hit my legs at home with a lower body kettlebell workout. I find training the legs with kettlebells a nice pace because the weight is not on your back loading your spine. Overhead squats and rack squats are very challenging without the risk of hurting your back.

Anyways, here is the workout I did pairing two exercises for supersets:

2 kettlebell rack lunges x 3,3,3,3,3 reps
2 kettlebell deadlift x 15,15,15,15,15 reps

2 kettlebell rack squat x 5,5,3,5,5
1 kettlebell Cossack x 15,15,10,8,10

1 kettlebell goblet squat x 20,20,20 reps
kettlebell planks x 10,5,6 reps (much like a renegade row only you lift one hand off the kettlebell and turn your body into a t-pushup without bringing the bell with you)

kettlebell circuit (lunges, pulls, cleans, swings) x 2 rounds of 5 reps per drill per hand
1 kettlebell swing x 40,25 reps

Here is a video I recorded of me doing a kettlebell circuit with a good focus on the legs. Try it out if you need ideas!
