Lifestyle Changes

Posted Aug 26 2008 4:36pm

Yes, that is me, ten years ago. 265lbs worth of me, and that doesn't include the dog. The dog, Kali, weighed in at 100lbs to give you some perspective.

This is what the wrong kind of lifestyle can do to you. I had a high powered demanding and stressful job. I used booze and food to manage the stress. When that picture was taken I hadn't worked out in 8 years.

Prior to taking that job, eight years earlier, I was a fitness fanatic. I thought I would be the next Arnold. In the 80's I was a bodybuilder and lifted with some of the best in the world at the time. In 1986 I helped train that years Mr. Universe, and I could keep up with him. I ate all the right things, worked out two times a day six days a week and got plenty of rest. I really enjoyed how I felt, but didn't like being broke so I went into the corporate world.

The corporate world was a game. A game that I knew I could play and win. So just like my training days I became a fanatic in succeeding at the corporate level. I did well, achieving in five years what took others in my industry 10-15. The stress took it's toll. Not only was I physically out of shape I was mentally out of shape. Looking and feeling like this was like building a house of cards, eventually it is all going to come down, and it did.

When I picked myself up I knew what I had to do. I had to find a balance. A balance between taking care of myself and a working lifestyle that wouldn't kill me. I had to find a balance between the two worlds that I knew. That is how Fit-Scription fitness services came about.

I am still working on me. I still have 20lbs I would like to lose. I would still like to make the kind of money that I used to. The best part is, I know it will happen. With each and every decision I make on a daily basis, I will achieve, and most likely surpass, those goals.

So pay attention to this blog. I can actually say, "been there done that".
