Due to the wicked hangover from last night's debauchery, I spent about half of the day sleeping. So did the hubby.
(Viesa always lays in that not-so-lady-like position hoping you'll scratch her "chicken legs")
I did wake up a little munchy (god forbid I would miss snack time) and ate the last (extremely salty and not my favorite) Clif Mojo Bar. Blech.
When I finally woke up, I had my favorite Amy's meal for lunch: Brown rice bowl with tofu and veggies. This meal is seriously delicious and filling. I usually "beef" it up with some tofu, but since I was out, I enjoyed it as is. It also helped me to muster up enough energy to brave the gym
Surprisingly, I got an awesome workout. I changed my split today since I've been doing circuit training for about 6 weeks. For the next 6-8 weeks my weekly workouts will be: upper, abs and lower, cardio only, upper, abs and lower, cardio only and then active recovery. It will be nice to shock my muscles a little.
Upper:
| Spin | 30 minutes |
| Cable crossover | 15 lbs, 3 sets of 10 |
| Assisted dips | 85 lbs counterweight, 3 sets of 10 |
| Lateral raise machine | 10 lbs, 3 sets of 12 |
| Pronated kickbacks | 5 lbs, 3 sets of 10 on each side |
| Overhead press | 12 lbs each, 3 sets of 10 |
| Spin | 20 minutes |
| High row | 30 lbs each, 3 sets of 10 |
| Low pull w/ rotation | 35 lbs each, 3 sets of 10 |
| Bent-over flyes | 5 lbs each, 3 sets of 12 |
| Good mornings | 25 lb flat weight, 3 sets of 10 |
Total time: 1 hr 30 min
After the gym, I hit up the comisscary for this week's groceries. I got a lot of good stuff, but they had 3 packs of chicken left on the entire shelf. I got one, but I'll have to go back for tenderloins because they didn't have any! Typical.
While I was making dinner, Kim whipped up some delicious guacamole (using light sour cream... yes!). I scooped mine up with some Kashi crackers.
(The hubby was mid-dip when I took the pic)
She also made some glorious sangrias, but I requested mine with a teeny bit of wine since I'm still in pain from last night and the thought of alcohol makes me wince.
(splash of wine, lime seltzer, plums, oranges, apples and watermelon..
I'm thinking Kim should just live with us)
For dinner, I cooked up a Rachael Rizzle recipe: Pork chops with chorizo and roasted red pepper sauce and green beans. Like I said before, I rarely rarely eat red meat (maybe twice every 6 months). For chorizo, I will definitely eat red meat. This is real Tucson chorizo too. A.mazing.
It was fantastico.
So the hubby has to go back to work (sweet, huh? He was there the whole time I was working out and getting groceries!!) so I'm gonna go keep him company. Maybe some hogcorn is in my future....
Hope you've all had a great day and thank you so much for all of your wonderful comments.
Night!
Gina
