"Let food be thy medicine & thy medicine be food"

Posted Apr 02 2010 12:38pm
Does it ever bother you that when you buy a Health or Fitness magazine that every other page has an ad for a prescription medication for just about everything imaginable....geeze.
I was reading through a Readers Digest and came across an add for a new prescription medicine for "Very High Triglycerides" a medical term for something serious "TOO MUCH FAT IN YOUR BLOOD" now you can treat it with a medication made from omega-3 fish oil: LOVASA...give me a break.

Here is the dousy; possible side effects include burping, infection, flu-like symptoms, upset stomach and change in sense of taste...What?

I have never had even one side effect from taking my fish oil, so why in the heck would they suggest a prescription for the same thing that can make you sicker than you were before you started it...hmm.  They are really getting sneaky with there approach.

Diet is everything, if you eat clean, meditate and exercise at least 5 times a week,  you should not need any of these prescription drugs. If you aren't doing this, you will be part of the population that is making these pharmaceutical companies richer. Your choice, no one else can make it for you.

Research shows that most anything can be reversed with diet and a good outlook on life I suppose would have to be in place, since stress weakens the immunity.

I am reading the  China Study  by T. Colin Campbell, Ph.D . and  Thomas M. Campbell   right now. A very interesting fun book! If you like to read about how food effects you, then you will love this study. When I finish, you will be the first to hear my opinion, but so far, I am loving it!!!

If you want to read along, go grab one at you local book store or click on the book below and start filling your mind with some good knowledge from their perspective...I love this stuff!

The book examines the relationship between the consumption of animal products and illnesses such as cancers of the breast, prostate, and large bowel, diabetes, coronary heart disease, obesity, autoimmune disease, osteoporosis, degenerative brain disease, and macular degeneration.

On a closing Note; this is Easter weekend and I would like to wish everyone a blessed Easter remembering such a special time in history that we are lucky enough to get to celebrate. I found this lovely poem at by Joanna Fuchs, Thank you for sharing Jesus's love with us in this poem Joanna.

Easter Joy

Jesus came to earth,
To show us how to live,
How to put others first,
How to love and how to give.

Then He set about His work,
That God sent Him to do;
He took our punishment on Himself;
He made us clean and new.

He could have saved Himself,
Calling angels from above,
But He chose to pay our price for sin;
He paid it out of love.

Our Lord died on Good Friday,
But the cross did not destroy
His resurrection on Easter morn
That fills our hearts with joy.

Now we know our earthly death,
Like His, is just a rest.
We'll be forever with Him
In heaven, where life is best.

So we live our lives for Jesus,
Think of Him in all we do.
Thank you Savior; Thank you Lord.
Help us love like you!
