Insulin is a hormone secreted by the pancreas and is simply a storage hormone. Each time your body metabolises foods and emits among other things sugar into your bloodstream the pancreas produces insulin to bring those glucose levels back down to normal.

The double whammy is that as insulin is a safe-keeping hormone, whilst high levels of it are found in your body not only will your system aim to extract and keep as much body fat as possible from the high GI food you have just consumed but your body will also not discharge any from it’s body fat stores.
Basically, eating these high GI foods not only makes you fat, but it also ensures you remain like that.
Try to do the following:
Aim to obtain the majority of your carbohydrates from veggies (especially lots of the leafy green alkalising ones)
Supplement vegetables consumption with small amounts of fruits.
Stop the blood sugar spiking carbohydrates such as bread, pasta, cakes, sweets, fruit juices, soft drinks and sweets etc and you’ll see the pounds start to go. Don’t worry about eating fats, they’re important to the body and truly help you lose excess fat.
Just stop the high omega-6 ones like processed veggie oils and the trans-fats seen in most junk foods.
