Something has been on my mind a lot lately. The general thought process in any industry and in life is “knowledge is power, the more you know the better you are and the more money you’ll make.” In reality, it is extremely true. The more knowledge we have the better our judgments and decisions can be. If we have knowledge, we can try things and get experience, which is where we really learn things.
So I thought about things, I thought about my training and my clients training. I thought about things I’ve been doing and the reasons why certain outcomes kept happening. Then it hit me, all of this knowledge I have, that I’ve acquired through tireless effort isn’t helping me. It’s not helping me because I’m not applying it as well as I should have been. Sure I use everything that I know, everything is in my toolbox but it’s applying that knowledge in life that matters.
Knowing things isn’t good. Knowing that eating French fries every other night isn’t good enough, don’t freakin’ eat them every night. Knowing that you aren’t happy in a relationship is pretty stupid, do something about it. Knowing how to lose weight isn’t good, get off your ass and do it.
