Remember back in the day, when first day of school meant new everything ?? New clothes, backpacks, lunch boxes, shoes, school supplies... the list goes on and on. Since it's a sin to get dressed up for college classes (it's usually a t-shirt, sweat shorts and flip flops for me), I at least decided to live it up a little by getting new shoes-- running shoes :)
This is a big deal for me because this is the first pair of athletic shoes I've ever owned that do not include the color pink . The guy measured my foot, and did the computer analysis of how I stand and run... these bad boys are super comfy.
This morning, I walked the little babies and came home to my beautiful breakfast cookie and coffee.
I went to escuela to get my parking permit (and had to wait in an insanely large line... standard), went and got my new shoezies and wore them to the gym.

With my new shoes, I totally wanted to get on the treadmill and run, but I'm saving my cardio energy for spin class--- it's a cross training day today--- I'm stoked to see how good they feel on the trail tomorrow.
When I got home, I made a sandwich fold-over with a whole wheat low-carb wrap, turkey, mustard, Laughing Cow, banana peppers, hot sauce, romaine and grape tomatoes. Amazing snack and post-workout replenishment.
Before the "fold":
After:
It's sticking its tomato tongue out
I'm off to run some errands (get some school stuff at Target, bars and pb at Publix), then spin class. It's mine and the Pilot's 1 year anniversary today! He's flying right now, but tonight we're supposed to go on a date. I was thinking about it and I think it would be nice if we made dinner together instead of going out... I usually enjoy our dinners at home so much more than when we go to a restaurant. Any ideas for a healthy yet romantic dinner for two??? ;)
Hope you have a wonderful Monday!!!
Take care,
G
