I Used The Leg Press

and I'm guilty of going against my own advice.

See I've often scolded people that advise everyone to get on the leg press and claim that it is a replacement for the squat. I've screamed that the muscle mass isn't functional and that anyone who wants tree trunk legs or wheels for performance needs to stay far away. I've advised people with low back issues that the leg press was a machine straight from the devil.

But I used the leg press today

Here's the thing, there will always be a great divide between the people who want to look good and the people who want to play better, we're not even going to talk about the people who want to be healthy.

One group needs to do whatever it takes to get bigger and leaner and the other group needs to do what it takes to perform and move better.

Are there some coaches that can successfully work with both populations? Sure, I'm one of them, just check the testimonials on my website . The issue begins when coaches take a one size fits all mentality .

My low back doesn't hurt(thankfully), I'm not an athlete that needs to play everyday. What I am in someone who needs to bring his legs up and add weight for a photo shoot in February .

It'll never replace the squat but it'll make a damn good add on.
