Happy Sunday, ya'll!!! (I love typing "ya'll" because I can't say it without sounding like a huge goofball) ITS SUNNY TODAY!!! Whoo hoo!!! And our streets are covered with debris and dead frogs... but at least it's not raining anymore!!!!
Yesterday was pretty fabulous:
I got a decent amount of reading done (out of the hundreds of pages I have to read this week), and had some popcorn while I was reading. I sprinkled 1/4 scoop of chocolate protein powder and some cinnamon on it, which in theory is a pretty good idea, but the powder failed to stick to the popcorn and ended up making a huge mess.
Since I didn't end up getting very much protein out of my popcorn experiment, I had a glass of fat free milk with 1/2 scoop protein.
After I studied for a little while, we got ready and met with some friends at Giulio's for dinner. This is one of the few places here that we truly love, and I can always find something healthy on the menu that doesn't need to be altered as much. I started off with a glass of Shiraz and ordered the Neptune Salata Tuna (a tuna salad with balsamic on the side). It was pretty funny because I ordered a salad for my entree, but it also came with a salad or soup-- I didn't feel like soup (I have to be in the mood for it) so I got a greek salad. A greek salad and a tuna salad. And a whole lotta wine :D
I always order my salads with no cheese or croutons and dressing on the side, but the greek salad with pre-mixed so I had to eat the cheese... and dressing... tragedy, right?
This was seriously amazing. The tuna was slightly seasoned and perfectly cooked, and the salad was full of veggies-- I dipped each bit in the balsamic and ended up eating about 1/3 of the dressing, all of the tuna, and less than 1/4 of the actual salad-- this thing was huge.
For dessert, the pilot wanted cannoli and they were out, so he got the baklava. I had three glorious bites of this flaky goodness:
My friend Megan and her pilot are the friends who had dinner with us and they went to a Jack Johnson concert in Atlanta last week. Megan is also super health-conscious and of course they stopped at Whole Foods. She brought me some peanut butter!!!! Yeahhhhh :D My friends definitely support my peanut butter addiction...and I love it :D Thank you again, Megan!!!
So we came home, the hubby played Rockband and I crashed out on the couch with the laptop.
We woke up laaaaate today (I love sleeping in on Sundays.... well any day, actually, but I don't feel guilty about it on Sundays) and were sad to see that it's definitely time to get some groceries. I had a Larabar Peanut Butter Cookie (I seriously love these bars... You changed my life forever, VeggieGirl !) and a Morningstar soysage (I forgot to snap a pic!)
I'm off to run, get groceries, read for school, go back and do weights (and finally do a new routine for my workout page ) and hopefully make something delicious for dinner. We've eaten out the past two nights and I'm so ready for a home-cooked meal!!!
Have a great Sunday!!!
Take care,
G
