First, I'm happy to say that my arm feels way better than it did yesterday. I'm so glad that it wasn't a pulled muscle or anything like that.
Anyway, when I got home from work, I was ready to hit my workout but my husband surprise me saying that we are going over his parents house for dinner because they had cooked for us. Guess who didn't pass that up? Me!!!! We we arrived, the smell coming from their kitchen hit my face and my stomach was ready to tear it up. I had turkey leg with some red beans and spaghetti and washed it down with some peach tea. After dinner, my husband grandmother made me one of her original desserts.......Sweet Butter Roll. I'm not talking about a dinner roll with butter on it.....this is a little piece of heaven
I don't know the recipe but I believe the bread part is flour, butter, sugar, and cinnamon (almost like a cinnamon roll) and the frosting is made like the pudding you would make for a homemade banana pudding. Simply delicious! Now I know of course that this isn't a healthy dessert, but I made a promise to myself that I would eat a little per day (like 4 oz) after a really good workout and not binge and eat the whole pan. Ya'll pray for me, LOL!
And speaking of all this sweetness, I have been trying alternate ways to sweet up some of my daily joys with adding real sugar (because you know that too much of a good thing is bad). So I have been using Splenda (aka Sucralose) for my coffee, teas, and etc. But of course I read something everyday that is bad about sucralose/aspartame online, in books, MyFitnessPal, and many other things. I had that mind set.....I don't do it everyday so it won't hurt me. Well I decided to make a little change up and try something new and healthier alternative to sugar.........Truvia
Truvia is made from the stevia plant which suppose to be natural and calorie free. I got it today while I was out of lunch and thought, why not, I should give it a try. So tomorrow, I will give you a full report of how it taste (because if it is good, guess what I'm switching too???)
