How to modify your floor based body weight exercises

I was talking to my friend Rick the other day. He's a physio from the West coast of Canada, and spends most of his time consulting for and training other physical therapists and fitness pros.
We were talking about using bodyweight training with people coming back from injury, and one of the questions he asked me was about modifying floor based exercises to reduce the stress on specific body parts.
I uploaded a very short clip to Facebook of how I often modify an exercise like the CST Quad Squat. The solution is deceptively simple but very effective.
