You know why the Halloween candy goes on sale well before Halloween, right? So that you buy it, eat it all and have to buy more to hand out! And you know how we FBGs feel— we’re all for a treat now and again , and you’d think that a snack-sized candy bar would be a smart, simple way to get a quick chocolate fix without a lot of Halloween calories. Something so tiny and cute couldn’t possibly derail our diet, right? Well, one won’t do much harm.
The problem is that once you’ve had an itty bitty Snickers, you find yourself reaching for that single Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup and washing it down with an adorable little bag of Skittles, and suddenly, you would’ve been better off just buying a king-size candy bar and being done with it.
The best trick for keeping your Halloween candy-fueled calorie count under control? Know thy enemy. Once you have an idea of how many calories are in each fun size piece, you can make a conscious choice to indulge in a way that won’t undo your hard workouts.
