How are quad muscle hernias detected or diagnosed?

Posted by Laura

I have constant pain on my upper extremities.  I was very active and I tore the muscle above the knee. I went to a so called therapist in Mexico and he told me that it was a knot.  He applied extreme pressure to my quad muscles pushing towards my knees.  It was extremely painful to say the least.  After he was done I was in pain and it was hard to walk.  I noticed lumps on my left leg the one that I had initially injured.  So it looked worse.  It has been 2 months and I have lost muscle strength, the pain is constant.  I feel a burning sensation.  My muscles are not shaped the same and when I contract them or try to, you can see these huge lumps on the right side of my legs.  It looks like the muscle is bulging out and only concentrates on that one area.
