I was totally NOT a fit chick yesterday. Just the opposite in fact. I had overnight oats a horrible breakfast from Dunkin because I overslept, missed the gym, and was running late to work. Due to a company picnic, I ended up having avocado and turkey on whole wheat wrap jam packed with veggies a hot dog and potato chips. I went was supposed to go to a master Zumba class at 7:30, and loved it but then decided against it and ate grilled chicken, brown rice and veggies Domino’s instead. Then I spent the rest of the night painting my porch and dreaming about eating banana soft serve funfetti cupcakes.
Why am I telling you this? Because you’ve probably been there too. We all have. And I want to be honest about the days that I don’t eat healthy or am not motivated enough for a workout, because it happens to all of us. When I hear people talking about how they “never” skip a workout, or never WANT to skip a workout, or NEVER eat poorly, I just get discouraged and think things like “How come I can’t be like that? Why do I want to be lazy and eat junk sometimes?” “What’s wrong with me?” At the end of the day, I just don’t believe them. We are human, and despite all of our unique goals, sometimes we just don’t feel like it. Period.
The important thing is getting yourself right back on track. Today is a new day and I will seize it by getting a good workout in accompanied with lots of clean eats. When was the last time you had a not so healthy day? How did you bounce back?
