Has anyone had hip arthroscopy for a labral tear?

Posted by Teresa H.

I had hip arthroscopy for a labral tear about a year and a half ago.  My recovery took much longer than I expected, but I can now do most activities, including running -- although I still have some pain and sometimes have to stop for a week or two before I can run again.  I seem to have a lot of trouble with muscle spasms in my glutes and hamstrings.  Has anyone else experienced this?  I also still have groin pain off and on.  I am 50 years old and very active.  It just stinks to be in pain most of the time!

Hey, Teresa. I did, about the same amount of time ago, but never got back to running. I still continued to have groin pain, which then just got worse and worse and finally I had a THR in May of this year. Details here: http://www.abluetruedreamofsky.blogspot.com/

Good luck. I wish now I'd had the THR sooner.
