Georgia may be known as the “Peach State,” but my home state of South Carolina grows some of the juiciest, most delicious peaches I’ve ever tasted. There’s nothing like driving out to the peach farm, picking the peaches for yourself and heading home. The only thing better is eating them.
We would leave with bushels of peaches to eat while playing outdoors, watching TV and just sitting out on the front porch. My mom also put some up in the fridge to make my favorite, peach cobbler, later. The only thing is, peaches, like any other fresh fruit or vegetable won’t keep fresh long unless you put them in the refrigerator. Even then, they have a limited life span, until now.
GE just debuted their new fresh door refrigerator and to prove that it is the best of the best at keeping foods fresh, they brought together the refrigerator’s engineer and a chef to travel across the country in Justin and Ben’s Freshpedition.
Their mission is to deliver fresh food to a scientist doing research in a remote desert. Stay tuned for my next post, in a few days to learn the outcome.
I was truly impressed with the capabilities of this new refrigerator. Normally refrigerators suck the moisture right out of foods, but this fridge has a fresh food evaporator that holds humidity longer. This keeps the food fresh and tasty, just like when you put it in there.
There is plenty of room in this bad boy for my bushels of peaches; it has a slide down tray for those big, chunky objects. It even has a separate air system to keep the fresh and frozen food smells from leaking on each other. Boy, I can taste those peaches now!
GE is continuing this same passion for fresh food with the Freshpedition Sweepstakes. This sweepstakes uses Pinterest, which means you can actually pin for a chance to win all new GE kitchen appliances.
