Fish Oil And Skin Care Go Together

I’ve talked recently about serious health concerns and the benefits of fish oil for better health. But skin is the same and needs the good fats in fish oil. Skin loves polyunsaturated fats.

Skin problems aren’t usually life threatening, but more often cosmetic. But even so there are probably as many women interested in skin care as in other health issues. They’re interested in avoiding wrinkles, fine lines around the mouth and eyes, age spots and more.

Enter fish oil. Skin is just like the rest of our body. It needs good polyunsaturated fats just like our heart does, and it responds to an increase in good fats and a decrease in bad fats in our diet by getting more and more healthy and looking better.

Most of us start taking fish oil supplements for reasons unconnected with skin health. But it’s been found that many people who aren’t even taking their Omega 3 capsules for their skin still end up reporting that their skin ends up looking and feeling better.

The skin has it’s own oil. These are natural oils that the skin produces itself and they can be stripped out by excess sun and wind and more. And many women moisturize to help the skin retain more skin oils and so moisture.

Not only that but Omega 3 is also an excellent anti inflammatory. Many skin conditions are characterized by inflammation and so anything that helps reduce this is good for the skin. Fish oil has been shown to be an even more effective anti inflammatory than aspirin, and has no serious health side effects. Reducing skin inflammation is an excellent way to improve skin health and reduce specific skin problems.

Many skin experts now are suggesting daily fish oil capsules for good skin care, as well as the use of top shelf skin care products.

There’s excellent health reasons to be taking the very best Omega 3 supplements for general health and everyone should now be doing so. Whilst skin health is important the health and heart benefits of daily Omega 3 supplements are vital, and reason enough to be adding a serious dose of fish oil to your daily diet.
