Today is day 31 of my half marathon training plan. When I made my original plan, I miscounted the weeks before my SheROX Triathlon , so I’ve recently had to adjust that as well as look over the days that I’ve misses, switched, or added workouts. Here is the breakdown of the first 30 days.
Stats:
In this first month of half marathon training…I have…
Run 37 miles
Did yoga 3 times
Did strength workouts 12 times (including my Shred workouts)
I am short 14.5 miles in runs, because when I miss workouts it always seems to be the runs…hmm…
I fully plan on making those miles up, and I think I am also going to try an add another strength training day into my plan. That would give me 2 days a week for upper body and 1 day for lower body.
I think for today’s workout I am going to did the elliptical for 50 minutes and catch up a bit on those missed miles around the golf course after all the people have stopped playing!
There are only 40 more days until the ING Rock and Roll Philadelphia Half Marathon, and I am definitely nervous. I need to start pushing myself a bit harder with my runs, and getting farther distances with less walking. I know I can do it, and it will be for my own good. No matter what I am going to be doing this half marathon, and I would much rather be strong and confident than struggling and upset.
