Exercises In Front Of The TV

Posted Jan 20 2010 7:17pm

It's been a while since I gave an exercise to tickle your fitness fancy and make you get off your phat fanny.

So technically we should start off  with a slow and easy exercise, but I'm thinking better of that...

No more Mister Nice Guy, let's breakout an advanced core exercise that you'll feel tomorrow!

Try my ipsilateral knee to elbow plank...

It's got way more challenge than the basic plank, plus it will put a burn in your obliques.

Give this a shot and let me know how it felt!

Exercise In Front Of The TV #
Ipsilateral Knee To Elbow Plank

Goal: Activate deep core and shoulder stabilizers.

Sequence:
1.     Start with your forearms on the floor, elbows right beneath the shoulders.
2.     The body is prone in a straight line with only the toes on the ground.
3.      Raise one foot off the floor, while flexing the knee and hip towards the same side elbow.

Variation:
  1. Alternate legs
  2. Perform 5 to 12 total repetitions
  3. Regress by doing exercise from hands, instead of forearms
  4. Progress by putting your forearms on a BOSU ball or stability ball
