Eating Fast Vs Eating Slow There is an over abundance of nutrition information around today. There’s all of this latest information and knowledge that everyone is missing the biggest concept of healthy nutrition. It’s going to be like dropping a bomb when I say it but NO ONE is talking about it. Why do we eat so fast? Why is it ok to eat really quickly and when did it become cool? I know we’re busy but does anyone realize how bad it is for you. Yes I know, your boss is yelling at you to get back to work but damn, just take another 60 seconds, it’ll make a big difference. We need to be relaxed for our nervous system of our gut or digestive system to work properly. If we are in a rush we are stress, so eating in a rush makes us fat. We don’t digest our food properly and because stress hormones slow our metabolism and promotes fat storage, primarily in the stomach area. We will also over eat quickly since it takes our stomach twenty minutes to tell our brain that we are full. So there you go, how many people can honestly say that they remember the last time they ate for 20 minutes? Hell, I was on a date the other night and it took me less then 20 minutes to eat. Take home : Eat slowly, enjoy your food, I bet you’ll find out that you don’t really enjoy most of the food you think you do. |
