Do you ever use a personal trainer?

Posted by Mary Ann P.

I've used a personal trainer a couple of times and found that they really helped me structure my workout routine. Have you ever tried one?

Yes. And I would highly recommend one for anybody, particularly those who want to get fit and healthy but don't necessarily have all the knowledge to go it alone. I am one of those people who used the gym for months before getting a personal trainer, and didn't realize that I was wasting my time doing all the wrong stuff (using equipment incorrectly, not getting my optimal workout, etc.) until I got a personal trainer. After getting a personal trainer, I started to see immediate results. I don't think it's necessary to have one forever; maybe just a few sessions will be enough to get you on the right track, since it is expensive. Check out your local gym for p.t. bargains and specials--they normally have 'em.
Yes. A great personal trainer can really help you get on the right track. I think it's great for people who need motivation to go to the gym. It's like a gym buddy and you know your getting a good workout. I liked having a personal trainer because they would push me further than I would push myself.
But they're so expensive..... I love the idea of having a personal trainer....I actually skipped the gym today for lack of motivation-basically, I wasn't in the mood and had no one to push me to go. I talked my boyfriend into going to the gym with me on nights we're both available after work, so hopefully that will help. But I digress.... The problem for me with getting a personal trainer is the cost-some I've seen cost $60 an hour. I can't afford that right now, but I would love to see how I would benefit from having a trainer.
